Our last day in Florida was Thursday. That morning we took time to pack up all of our belongings and clean up the houses. We had to meet coach at her house after 10 and then we had the afternoon to ourselves. Some of the girls went putt putting at the Pirates Cove and they had a great time! The majority of us went to the Scots baseball game for a little while since they were in Florida as well.
After watching the game we all met the coaches at Olive Garden for our final team dinner in Florida. Everyone took this opportunity to eat well since our flight wouldn't land in Ohio until almost 10 p.m. We went to the airport and spent some time hanging out until the 2.5 hour flight. While I would take a 2.5 hour flight over driving any day, this flight seemed to be especially long and pretty boring.
After we landed in Ohio, the team took a bus back to Wooster. In the past we have been able to go home for the last few days of spring break, but this year everyone went back to campus for practice on Friday and Saturday. It was really nice to have some extra time together and to have the campus practically to ourselves.
I would have to say that the biggest shock when coming back to Ohio would be the weather change. When the team was in Florida, Ohio was experiencing unseasonably warm weather with temperatures reaching into the 80s (very close to the same temperature in Florida). After we came back the temperature has, of course, dropped and it has rained. Today at practice it was 47 degrees, which seems very cold after playing in the hot sun.
Our first game in Ohio is on Wednesday at Marietta! This will probably be a tough game, but we are all looking forward to getting into the season!
Til next time,
Danielle
