Friday was the designated beach day and everyone was looking forward to spending some quality time in the sand and ocean. Before we left for the afternoon, both houses had to finish the lift. We met at 9:30 and headed to Sanibel so we could spend the afternoon on the beach.
After finally finding a few parking spaces, we ended up at Bowman beach. The afternoon was spent doing various activities. Many of us played frisbee in the ocean, searched for shells on the beach, and just enjoyed playing in the sand and relaxing. It was a fun afternoon, but after three hours everyone was ready to head back.
On the drive back we stopped at Dairy Queen and got some ice cream. What a nice treat after spending the afternoon in the sun. We headed back to the houses and showered so we would be ready for dinner at Coach's by 6.
Dinner was a nice time to gather and catch up on the day off. We played euchre and explored the backyard, which had a banana tree and a dock right on the water. On the way home we had to stop and buy some aloe since everyone was burnt from the afternoon on the beach. Even though we put sunscreen on, the Florida sun is still very hot!
